Take a day or two to explore lino and gelli plate printing!

1 day workshop or 2 day advanced workshop available. $100 per day, all materials supplied. Tea, coffee and biscuits supplied.

Explore lino printing and gelli plate printing, beginners and advanced accommodated. Using your prints, learn bookbinding skills to make your own book

Workshop outline:

Day 1. Introduction to printmaking and bookbinding day. Beginning at 9:30 am participants will be shown how to create lino cuts and do gelli plate printing. Support will then be provided to participants to explore both methods of printmaking allowing the production of a number
of prints. Following a lunch break, Jillian will demonstrate book binding techniques. All participants will then be supplied with the materials to create their own books using their prints. The workshop will conclude at 3:30 pm. Participants will leave the workshop with their own handmade book and prints.

Day 2. Advanced lino printing workshop day. Participants will extend their experience of lino printing through experimenting with reduction and/or jigsaw prints. The workshop will begin at 10 am with participants setting personal goals that will then drive their pathway through their printing experience.

About the workshop presenter;
Jillian Reidy, ATA (NESA), MICTinED, GCTA, BAEd, has been working as an art educator at The Henry Lawson High School for over 20 years and has recently held an exhibition of her works at the Grenfell Art Gallery demonstrating her printing skills.
Jillian is an experienced educator and a published illustrator with professional experience as a graphic artist.
