Weddin Landcare will be hosting two community events in Grenfell during April and May, in collaboration with Weddin Community Native Nursery (WNCC). Both events will focus on planting natives in your garden to encourage native fauna. The events are being supported by Central West Local Land Services.

The second free event will be held on Friday May 3 from 9am to 3pm at the Grenfell Country Club, with morning tea and lunch provided.

Sally from Sally Bourne Landscapes will give presentations on native plants for sustainable country gardens and the basics of design and planting gardens. The presentations will focus on plants that are available from the WCNN. Sally is a Gooloogong-based landscape designer and horticulturist specialising in sustainable, rustic and family-friendly gardens. As a special treat on the day, Kathleen McCue will open Patina Gallery. Kathleen's gallery features her plant and bird paintings as well as her innovative garden sculptures.

As with the previous event, there will also be a presentation on the Small Purple Pea Project, lucky door prizes to be won, native plants for purchase and a range of information material to take home. Bookings for this second event are essential for catering purposes. To book, or for more information on both events, contact Mikla 0499 199 016 or email weddin@lachlandcare.org.au.
