Nicole Berlach is a Natural History illustration Artist based on the Central Coast of NSW. Nicoles' approach sees traditional techniques and medium applied in a fresh way that resonates with the art enthusiast and scientist alike. With the technical skill of the historical greats, paired with contemporary vision and inspiration - Nicole has an extensive portfolio of beautiful work including children’s picture book illustration, scientific illustration plates, field guides, interpretive signage, logo design, album covers, and private commissioned artworks.

Woodland Plains explores Australia’s native grassland communities through the delicate and multi-layered medium of watercolour on paper. This unique habitat once covered vast swathes of Eastern Australia, and is now classified as Endangered Ecological Community.

Complementing Nicole’s paintings will be a collection of sculptural pieces woven from the same native grass species, by some of NSW leading fibre artists, including Peta-Joy Williams and Lissa De Sailles.

Woodland Plains invites you to experience a unique and ancient landscape, and consider its value within contemporary Australian life & culture.

The offical opening of this exhibition will be on Friday 2nd March at 7pm. Should you wish to attend please RSVP to Claire on 02 6343 2059 or claire@grenfell.org.au
