Concert
Festival Concert Friday 11th of June 2010 7:30pm at the Henry Lawson High School Auditorium This years Festival Concert is again jam packed with talent both local and visiting. The Grenfell Town Band will perform in the concert and will open proceedings. The Henry Lawson High School Band and Choir, Grenfell Public School Marimbas and St Josephs School Recitation will all have the opportunity to showcase their talents. We have some very talented youth in our town and their performances are not to be missed. The concerts special guests from Sydney, the award winning folk band "The Mothers of Intention", will be rounding out the evenings entertainment. Their easy listening style will compliment the local line up of talent. We will also be entertained by Melissa Robertson who is a former Henry Lawson Festival busking competition winner and Miranda Foster who has supported the festival concert for many years. Official Guest of the Festival, Juliet Palmer Frederick will introduce herself at the concert. The MC for the evening will be Geoffrey Graham, Bush Poet who is a well known visitor to past festivals. Geoffrey will also entertain the audience with Bush Verse and stories. Of course the concert does not happen without the work of many volunteers and we are very grateful to Tony and Mary Holz for organising High School students to operate sound and lighting, the Cadet Unit for carrying out ushering duties, Louisa’s Locker for organising the bookings, The Henry Lawson High School for use of the hall and the High School P&C for supper. Tickets are available from Louisa’s Locker and are $12.00 adults and $6.00 for children aged 12 and under. Bookings will open 17th May.  |
