Relocating to Grenfell

With significant growth in many sectors of the town, Grenfell is experiencing a revival as a regional destination.

Grenfell’s strength lies in education, agriculture, retail and professional services. These industry sectors employ a significant portion of the labour force and position Grenfell as a knowledge based regional service centre.

The expanding heritage tourism sector as well as the professional business sector is considered of major importance. Grenfell has attracted more professionals to the town over the last few years than at any other time in its history.

The Weddin Shire Local Environmental Plan (LEP) has been designed to meet a growing demand for more residential, rural residential, commercial and industrial land now and in the future. The Grenfell District offers a high quality, low stress lifestyle at an affordable price and people are friendly here. If you come from a major capital city in Australia, your re-establishment in Grenfell will see you in your new home with money left in your pocket!  You may prefer small acreage properties where you can spread out, buy the kids a horse and still be 5 minutes from town!

Traffic jams do not exist in Grenfell.  The road network is more than adequate and the town is well laid with the highway bypassing Main Street so there are no traffic choke points.  You can live some kilometres out of town and still be at work in 10 minutes.

Business Relocation

If you are looking to re-locate or start your business, Grenfell is the place to be. Council has a range of business incentives and is happy to discuss flexible incentives for industries with a potential for significant growth in the region.

Grenfell is strategically placed on the Mid Western Highway between Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, and adjacent to the Newell Highway to Brisbane. Some of Australia's largest road freight companies are based on the Newell and regularly service major capital cities and regions across Australia.

Establishment costs for businesses, be they commercial or industrial, are much cheaper than metropolitan and coastal New South Wales.  Property prices or leasing costs are cheaper and the reliable workforce is a feature of the district. The ease of travel to work and the relaxed lifestyle means reduced absenteeism, less stoppages and lower staff turnover occurs compared with capital cities and bigger towns.

Grenfell is an ideal location for large manufacturing and warehousing businesses, with an industrial precinct on the edge of town.

Grenfell is well-supplied with a range of services.  These include electricity supplied by Country Energy, water supplied from Lake Rowland’s by Central Tablelands water.

The Grenfell Business Development Committee holds regular business development opportunities to promote business and employment growth.  The Committee will be able to assist you to identify suitable locations for your business and to provide introduction services to government and industry services.
