8am-10.30am Community BBQ Breakfast, Stalls, children's competition and entertainment including a whip cracking demonstration, Official Opening by Australia Day Ambassador Valerie Parv, flag raising & awards ceremony. Get in the Australia Day Spirit and come dressed in your best Australian outfit. Join the community of Grenfell for a great day out.

7pm official opening of the Country Energy Art Gallery Exhibition and Competition ‘Love of our Country’

5pm start, teams of 4, entry is $25. Entries to Leann at the pool.

From 8.30am to 3.30pm. Cost is free with morning and afternoon tea provided.

Deadline for the Weddin Shire Netwaste Waste to Art competition. Art work must be made of reused and recyclable waste material. Art forms can include furniture, sculpture, paintings, collages, drawings sculptures craftworks and wearable items. For more information contact Isabel on 63431212

Grenfell’s largest tourist event, the Henry Lawson Festival is one of the longest running festivals in New South Wales, with 2008 being its 51st year.

A weekend full of exciting activities for every age group. From art exhibits and literature competitions, live performances of poetry and busking to the street parade and carnival activities.

The Guinea Pig Races are held for the second time in 2009. One of the more unusual events held during the Henry Lawson Festival weekend. Great fun for the whole family.

The Grenfell Jockey Club and Picnic Race committee organise a great day out for punters. For those less interesting in racing the social outing also features fashions on the field and live entertainment.

Guided horse rides each day, based at the showground each night. The five day muster involves relaxed horse rides which allows participants to take in the magnificent scenery of Grenfell's district.

Each October we invite people to our beautiful heritage town to see whether we can assist you to move to Grenfell. Visitors to the Open Day are treated to a glimpse of “Life in Grenfell” showing potential residents and new businesses what is on offer in the district.
